Background Images Tutorial

When choosing one of the pre-made background images, you must also change the following settings for optimal display:

Banner Backgrounds
When choosing any of the Banner Backgrounds, you must set the “Repeat” value of the background to “repeat-x” which will make the background repeat horizontally on the page.

You must also change the background color of the page to the outer color of the image to white (hex code FFFFFF).

Fancy Backgrounds
When choosing any of the Fancy Backgrounds, you must set the “Repeat” value to “none” and change the background color (hex code) for each of the following variations:

  • Fancy Blue – 000142
  • Fancy Green – 104300
  • Fancy Neon Green – 01431d
  • Fancy Red – 440901
  • Fancy Yellow – 443401

Ringtones Backgrounds
When choosing any of the Ringtones Backgrounds, you must set the “Repeat” value to “none” and change the background color (hex code) for each of the following variations:

  • Back – 000000
  • Blue – 3b6bad

Wave Backgrounds
When choosing any of the Wave Backgrounds, you must set the “Repeat” value to “none” and change the background color (hex code) for each of the following variations:

  • Wave Black – 1f1f1f
  • Wave Blue – 002760
  • Wave Green – 206000
  • Wave Magenta – 400061
  • Wave Orange – db7b00
  • Wave Red – 5f1c01

Web 2.0 Backgrounds
When choosing any of the Web 2.0 Backgrounds, you must set the “Repeat” value to “repeat-x” and change the background color (hex code) for each of the following variations:

  • Black – 202020
  • Blue – 0a79ae
  • Dark Blue – 112b64
  • Green – 2a712d
  • Orange – e38d2a
  • Red – ad0a0b

How to Create a Custom Header Graphic

If you plan on creating your own header graphic to integrate into Affiliate Theme, you must follow a few guidelines:

  • The image must be 850x150px in size, exactly.
  • We recommend keeping the header graphic in JPEG format, saved a 70 optimization score in Photoshop.

Page Layout Settings

When selecting page layout, it is important to keep in mind the niche and purpose of your site.

For example, if you are using Affiliate Theme as just a simple landing page with only a few offers, you will want to select either the 1 or 2-column layout. The 1-column layout gives you the option to use as big of an image and call to action button as necessary on the page. That is why it would work best for a landing page.

That being said, if you are building a review site or portal (for example, ringtones) it would be better to stick with either the 3 or 4-column layouts.

How to Upload an Image

Here, we will show you how to upload a logo or header image to your Affiliate Theme. When you click on the “Upload Image” link in your Affiliate Theme Main Settings Panel, you will see a popup dialogue box where you can select your image on your computer. After you select your image and upload, you will see the following box (screenshot below.)

VERY IMPORTANT! Make sure you copy the link (highlighted above) that is generated when you upload your image. You will want to copy and paste this URL into the header or logo URL field in your Affiliate Theme Main settings panel.

Please note that in order to upload an image, you must first have the “wp-content/uploads” folder set to permission of 777. If you get an error that about permission errors, you will either need to contact your web host to have them fix, or sign up for a web host that is more WordPress friendly, such as Bluehost.
